I Know There's A Problem When Google Doesn't Even Know What Something Is..

I just finished watching Cloverfield on DVD.. and then I read around on its Wikipedia articles.
On the article for the movie's monster itself - nicknamed Clover by the production staff, apparently - there's a quote from a review of the movie done by Lawrence Person of Locus Online. This is where my problem is.. he describes 'Clover' as being "like a cross between a truly giant mantis and Johnny the Skeletal Torso."
The problem there? I hope you, dear reader, are wondering what the problem with that is, because hopefully that would mean maybe YOU can explain to me...
What/who is Johnny the Skeletal Torso??? Please tell me somebody out there knows. Clearly Person must, because he said this, but to be very honest he probably should've considered linking to SOMETHING that would tell poor, clueless people like myself what in the world he's making references to. I suppose it doesn't matter, but when I get curious I kind of like to find something that will, you know.. help educate me about whatever I'm wondering about.
Obviously, I've tried Google. Don't suggest it, because what help would that be?

C3/DS Agents - Update

UPDATE - I now have the mini-copier and the tombstone creator, both originally on The High Tech Hand, thanks to Norngirl.

EDIT: I found the renornimator at Bibbleworld, along with most of the other High Tech Hand agents. Bibbleworld: http://www.bibbleworld.com/

To all you fellow Creatures DS/3 players out there..

For the love of GOD, if anyone reading this has any Creatures Docking Station/Creatures 3 agents/metarooms/breeds/etc., please please please comment on this post and/or email them to me. All the sites with the best things on them are GONE. GONE I TELL YOU. D: THIS DEPRESSES ME.
Specifically the things I'm hoping to have again would include basically anything that could be found on Clucky's site The High Tech Hand, anything that was on MNB's site Creatures Mainframe, and the metarooms The Domisphere and Children Of Capillata.
The absolute number-one things I want are the Children Of Capillata rooms, the Mini Copier and the Physics Adapter. I -need- them. NEED! D:
I said first that I wanted anything and everything you've got, and I do sort of mean that, because I wanted to try and back them up somewhere so that maybe I could someday make an archive site [naturally, I'd give proper credit to the respective creators].

Recently, In Veeland..

For some reason I regained my obsession with Gorillaz at least temporarily.. of course, this is the first time it's ever been mentioned on this blog so nobody'd know what I'm referring to but.. take my word for it. Also take my word for it that I didn't obsess over them the first time until AFTER they pretty much went defunct. Yeah. If the bandwagon [lol] for being a fan of that band were real, I would've been the girl running behind it while it's a good half-mile in front of her or so, screaming, 'WAIT! Wait for meee!'
Also I've recently found a new love; the band Volbeat. I'm not even sure love's quite a strong enough word.
Other things of note that've happened:
.x. I have some new characters [like, for roleplaying, not that I have anyone to do so with]... but all of them are new to this blog because most of them were made long long long before this blog came to be. Someday I need to make another blog for posting character ref sheets and crap on.
.x. I have a guinea pig [actually I've had her for a couple of months now.. and I am very sure it's female, I've checked a few times.]
.x. Polyvore account.. hooray? http://www.polyvore.com/cgi/profile?id=648308 You know you love my taste in clothing. DON'T DENY IT.

That's about all I can think of that I've done that I haven't mentioned anything about here.

Pumpkin Spice Doughcookies

And now presenting.. a recipe I made up myself, which I have tried making. They actually turn out quite well.

Ingredients:
4 tbsp White milk [or if you wanted, you could try chocolate milk]
10 tbsp Coffee [decaf or regular]
1/4 tsp Ground cinnamon
4 1/2 tsp Sugar
1 tsp Pumpkin pie spice
4 slices White bread [if you so wish, you could remove the crust]
Approx. one 2-inch thick slice of an Entenmann's 11.5oz Butter loaf cake

1. Combine the coffee, milk, and sugar in a coffee mug or other microwave-safe container.
2. Break the four slices of bread into relatively small pieces [say, about the size of pieces you might break off to feed birds?] and put the pieces into a large bowl.
3. Sprinkle the cinnamon and pumpkin pie spice into the bowl with the bread.
4. Crumble the butter loaf cake and add it to the bread and spices.
5. Put the mug of coffee+milk+sugar in the microwave for about 1 minute.
6. Pour the mug's contents into the bowl as well; stir until mixture is uniform.
7. Make dough into small [roughly just larger than quarter-sized] balls/piles on a plate. If the dough is still liquid enough to only end up as puddles on the plate, add more butter loaf cake as needed.***
8. Put the dough into the microwave for about 2 minutes to cook; let cool before eating or attempting to remove them from the plate. They'll most likely still be pretty soft after cooling, so don't be too rough taking them off the plate, you'll tear them in half.

*** Note: I am very sure you won't end up with actual balls of dough [I didn't], so don't get too worked up over the shape of your dough piles/balls.

And Now For Some Topic-Hopping Rambling..

I have recently discovered that videogame soundtracks = awesomest music ever. Or maybe just the Silent Hill games' music cause that's the only thing/s I've got assloads of tracks from.
Also, talk about freaking disturbing, the monsters in those games/in the movie. I've never played the games/seen the movie but I kind of want to now. [especially the movie. the games.. I don't even play the few games I've already got and I probably don't even have the right system for the Silent Hill games anyway.]

In other more personal news that nobody wants to hear about, I admitted I had a crush on someone who happens to have a crush on somebody else and the 'somebody else' doesn't like them back either. Hooray unreciprocated love, ja?

And then on a rather more interesting, still behind the times, and also a bit happier note, Scrubs is an awesome show. I've been watching it on DVD, seen up to season three thus far. [Told you I'm behind the times.. the show is on, what, season seven or eight now?]

Top Three Best Bands...

..In my opinion, at the moment, in this order;

3. Mindless Self Indulgence.
2. Angelspit.
1. Creature Feature.

I have some off the wall music preferences, yes. And if you haven't heard of these bands, seriously, look them up.

And All Was Right In The World Again

I got my computer back a couple days ago, and everything in the My Documents folder was still on it as according to plan. Unfortunately I lost all my fonts and games and stuff.

1.22.2009

Of viruses, future thoughts, and childish games, but not quite in that order.

Supposedly tomorrow I'm getting my other computer back. Its memory had to be wiped.. here's to hoping the backup harddrive saved my ten tons of crap I had on there. Viruses are horrible. D:

Not a whole lot going on. Might go play with one of my I Spy games... Admitting that I still play those things seems like a really silly thing to do; they're for 6 - 10 year olds and I'm five years over the age limit. What can I say, they're still sort of entertaining. I miss having a computer with a microphone built in for messing with the make your own I spy puzzle on the original copy of I Spy Spooky Mansion. [one of my friends and I used to use the recording feature on it and just say random things and play them back. it used to really crack us up.. then again so did lying on the floor saying the first random word that popped into our heads. we are odd.]

On a different note, it's weird how such random, unrelated things manage to remind me of other things. Like last night, when I had ramen noodles for the first time [and god, they are awesome and I should be smacked for never trying them before], they somehow spawned a thought process about the future for me. I normally cannot stand thinking about the future at all - it sort of scares me - but I actually sort of enjoyed the train of thought that I had about it last night. I won't explain, mostly because I'm not sure how to, but I also doubt anyone really wants to hear that much information.

Radio-Surfing At 1AM Is So Not Good For Your Health

I know far too many songs.

I was up until after 1am last night listening to a portable radio I found lying around, singing along with songs I knew and switching back and forth between every one of the few stations I could actually get, trying not to miss any potential songs that I didn't already know but wanted to download. [wow, was that a run-on? daaang.]
There's a ridiculously large amount of songs I'm familiar with. And an equally silly amount of songs I recognised on the radio for having only listened to it on six different stations for about a half hour.
The list, for those nonexistant people who actually care what songs I heard on the radio last night and recognised: [some artists had to be looked up; they're in yellow, and so is one song that I recognised but couldn't recall the name nor artist.]
  • Somebody Told Me - The Killers
  • Free Falling - Tom Petty
  • Walking In Memphis - Marc Cohn
  • Taking Care Of Business - Bachman-Turner Overdrive
  • Hey Mickey - Toni Basil
  • What's Love Got To Do With It - Tina Turner
  • When I Ruled The World - Coldplay
  • Ironic - Alanis Morisette
  • I Don't Care - Fall Out Boy
  • Down And Out - Tantric
  • Heat Of The Moment - Asia
  • Bad Moon Rising - Creedence Clearwater Revival
  • If I Could Turn Back Time - Cher
  • You Dropped A Bomb On Me - Gap Band
  • Rebel Yell - Billy Idol
  • Soak Up The Sun - Sheryl Crow
  • Livin' On A Prayer - Bon Jovi
  • Plush - Stone Temple Pilots

I'm sure everyone who sees this list will hit me for it, because yes, most of those songs are overplayed or were overplayed at some time, or were songs that it's more unusual if you DON'T know them than if you do.
